Research

This project investigate the client’s needs through online ethnography, competitor analysis, affinity diagram and personas and evaluating jobs to be done and studying user profiles. The findings led to creating different scenarios our personas encountering outlining the pain points and journey of exisiting members using the client’s webpage.

Online ethnography

Apart from understanding our clients needs and requests, we started off by doing an online ethnography research to understand the members within the organisation more thoroughly. These steps were carried out to perform the research.

Platform

Trustpilot, Doordash forum, Ubereats forum, hungrypanda forum

Criteria

Criteria are defined to better narrowing the scope of the investigation to make it more relevant.

We decided to investigate into

  1. all posts in last 12 months with high engagement (comments/likes) to see;

  2. What kind of info people are searching for and for what purpose;

  3. Past events to see the engagement and responses of users;

  4. Exposure rate of their posts;

  5. Consistency of postings between diff platforms;

Competitor analysis

A competitor analysis was performed to understand Enactus Sydney’s rivalries. This research allowed us to outline the strengths and weaknesses of each organisations and suggesting how each weakness could be turned to an opportunity. An overview of the results are stated as below;

Reflection

My involvement in the Flash Food Delivery project has been a fascinating journey where I had the opportunity to lead the web-based UI design aspect of our innovative delivery service.  As a UX/UI Designer, my role is to ensure that the user interface of our web platform is not only beautiful, but also functional, providing users with a seamless experience from placing an order to real-time delivery tracking.  This role requires me to delve into online ethnography and competitor analysis to thoroughly understand the landscape and user expectations.  Our research on platforms such as Trustpilot and various food delivery forums was critical in identifying the pain points of current services and what users really value in a food delivery system.
Using tools like Figma, Canva, and Balsamiq, I created wireframes and iterated designs, gradually refining the user experience.  My focus is on delivering a simple, efficient, responsive design that remains consistent across devices, ensuring our services are easily accessible from any platform.
Throughout the design process, my contributions greatly shaped Flash's web interface.  By integrating feedback from different user profiles and our detailed personas, I developed a user-centered interface that supports our "make it shine" approach - designed to increase speed and environmental awareness.  The final prototype is a testament to our team’s commitment to redefining food delivery to make it faster, more reliable and sustainable.  This project not only improved my skills in UX/UI design, but also deepened my understanding of how to leverage technology to promote sustainable business practices and meet the needs of modern consumers.
